In 2023 the Frenkel Topping Charitable Foundation provided funding for Isla to have speech therapy to enable her to communicate with her parents and those who treat and care for her.
We are thrilled to share an inspiring update about Isla, a young girl whose journey toward communication has been nothing short of remarkable. Isla was born with cerebral palsy, and along with not being able to sit or stand unassisted, crawl or walk, she is non-verbal. Thanks to your generous support, Isla received funding from the Frenkel Topping Charitable Foundation, enabling her to attend regular speech therapy sessions and exploring new ways to express herself.
✨ What’s New for Isla?
- She’s learned to use buttons to control toys and play her favorite videos, giving her independence and teaching cause and effect.
- Isla now uses a vtran board to make choices with her eyes—and even reaches out for snacks when excited!
- The biggest milestone: Isla has started using an eye gaze machine to pick videos, play games, and even ask Alexa to play her favorite songs. This technology has opened up a whole new world for her.
