Frequently asked questions
How much can I apply for?
There is no fixed amount, but most individual grants are for essential needs and kept within a reasonable range to help as many people as possible.
Do you provide funding for wheelchairs?
We provide funding for wheelchairs based on a medical needs basis. We require an NHS assessment or letter from your GP or medical professional confirming that the wheelchair is required based on a medical need.
Are there things the Foundation can't fund?
We would not fund the following:
- Household goods or furnishings
- House adaptations
- Fees relating to services provided by professionals or trainers or those responsible for running sessions or therapies
- Aids or equipment that are not required as a medical need
Do I need to provide proof of costs or quotes?
Yes, by providing quotes or invoices helps us assess your application quickly and ensure funding is used appropriately.
How long does it take to hear back?
We aim to respond to applications within 2–4 weeks of receiving all necessary information. Complex cases may take longer if we need further details.
Can I apply more than once?
Yes — but repeat applications are only considered if circumstances have changed or there is a new, clearly defined need. If applying for a wheelchair, we will only accept a repeat application after 3 years.
How is my information handled?
All personal information is handled in line with our Privacy Notice and data protection regulations. We only share information where necessary to assess or administer your application.
